Thanksgiving break progress

This week we pulled some more weeds from our plot, and over Thanksgiving we applied the rest of the fertiliser and added compost on top. We have seen a lot of progress this week with our tomatoes, bell peppers, sweet peppers, and green beans.
Our tomatoes plants have green tomatoes
growing on them now.

A flower has appeared on our green beans.

Solving Bolting Issues

Yesterday we pulled up the lettuce on the bottom because of the bolts that were coming up. After pulling it up we planted the celery transplants that we had been growing in the green house (depicted on top). Hopefully the celery will thrive as the weather becomes cooler.

Tomatos tied down

Support was needed for the Tomato plants before fruiting, tied some of the stems down with string to a stake

Carrot progress

A few of our 'Caracas' carrots appear to be almost ready for harvesting!

Garden visitor

A butterfly has landed on one of our sunflowers. It must have been attracted to the bright color. Butterflies can serve as pollinators, and we hope to see more around our plot.

Peppers and this week

We can see peppers starting to grow on some our plants. We hope to harvest them after Thanksgiving break.

This week we are focused on maintenance and are monitoring the growth of our crops. We are waiting patiently for our first harvest.

Sunflower and this week

We are finally seeing yellow blooms in our sunflowers.

This week we are focusing on monitoring our crops and managing the weeds. We have lots of weeds growing in our plot and have been pulling weeds almost weekly. There is not much to do in our garden besides weeding. We are waiting for our crops to grow. We will try to address the needs of our crops (pesticides, staking, etc.) as we go along.
