Making the Rows and This Week

Rows have been made in our plot. Now, we can plant seeds and transplants.

This week we are focusing on getting our plot started. Beds have been prepared, carrots and green beans were directly seeded, and we will continue to monitor our transplants. We have carefully arranged the spacing to accommodate the different crops we have planned for our garden.

Week's topic: Transplant preparation

This week we are focusing on preparing plants that we can transplant to our garden. We worked on tomato grafting and plan to transplant the successful grafts. We are planning to seed 3 cultivars of carrots ('Caracas,' 'Purple Haze,' and 'Rainbow'), 'Lunchbox' peppers, dwarf sunflowers, and 'Tango' celery into plug trays.

CSA Project Objectives

Our objectives for the CSA project are:

1. To expand our knowledge on the types of procedures, the processes, and the factors affecting vegetable crop growth in order to sell to a market.

2. To gain experience growing different crops and maintaining them based on their specific needs.

3. To learn first-hand how to adapt to environmental factors when growing certain crops.

4. To be able to swiftly and efficiently solve problems in order to produce the most vegetables possible, despite any hardships that come along.

5. To produce quality vegetables that are tasty, healthy, and satisfying for consumption.
